There are several health benefits to going to a spa. The word spa comes from Latin and means health through water, highlighting the important role water plays in both health and life.
The effects of sauna, cold plunge, and steam bath are increasingly supported by medical research. Several studies highlight how temperature changes, water, and relaxation can have a significant impact on both physical and mental health. With us, you get access to unique facilities that make it easy to take care of your body – and mind.
Immune System and Rejuvenation
Regular sauna use is known to strengthen the immune system. In Finland, the sauna is called a “fountain of rejuvenation,” a claim now backed by research. The heat triggers important processes in the body such as increased blood circulation and sweating, which help the body eliminate toxins and better regulate body temperature. With us, you’ll find a wide range of saunas with different temperatures and qualities – so you can find the “fountain” that suits you.
The Health-Promoting Sauna Cycle
For best effect, a sauna session should be combined with cold exposure. A typical sauna cycle starts with heat, followed by acclimatization, a cold shower or ice bath. This alternation stimulates both the autonomic and somatic nervous systems. Heat expands the blood vessels and reduces muscle tension, while cold contracts the vessels and lowers the pulse. The result? Increased circulation, better sleep, reduced stress – and a body that feels lighter and more balanced.
The Health Benefits of Steam
Steam baths are an ancient tradition dating back to, among others, the Roman Empire. We offer four different steam baths with specific qualities. Moist heat can help lower blood pressure, improve circulation, and provide an uplifting effect on the cardiovascular system. Steam also opens the pores, removes dirt, and adds moisture – perfect for a natural glow and softer skin.
The Element of Water – The Source of Life
Water has always been central to both health and spirituality. With us, you will experience water in all its forms – from warm pools and steam to cold plunges and melting ice in our aufguss ceremonies. This holistic exposure to water is not only refreshing but can also be calming, strengthening, and cleansing. It’s about actively using the elements to support the body’s natural balance.
Natural Nudity and Hygiene
We follow continental spa culture, where nudity in saunas and steam baths is common – out of respect for both hygiene and wellbeing. Swimwear is not permitted in these areas, but you can cover yourself with a towel or pestemal (a lightweight cotton cloth). This ensures optimal hygiene and a more authentic spa culture – while allowing the skin to breathe and experience heat and cold properly.
Wellbeing as a Lifestyle
Wellbeing is not just about luxury – it’s about choosing what’s good for you. Everything is designed here to help you unwind, turn your focus inward, and give yourself a break from the pace of everyday life. A spa visit with us not only brings health benefits but also an opportunity to relax your shoulders, be present, and feel genuine everyday joy.
