Transparency Act

The Transparency Act, which came into force on July 1, 2022, requires all businesses, including The Well AS, to be open and transparent about how our operations affect the outside world.

The law aims to reduce the risk of businesses causing or contributing to violations of human rights and ensures that we actively work to maintain decent working conditions with our suppliers, owners, and within our own operations.

The Transparency Act promotes respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions for businesses, both within our own operations and for our suppliers and their subcontractors. The law requires us to carry out due diligence assessments to understand and manage potential risks of violations. We are also obligated to inform about the basis and results of these assessments.

Integrated Work in the Business
As a significant player in the tourism industry, The Well AS considers fundamental human rights and decent working conditions as a given. We ensure that working conditions for our employees and those in our supply chains are in compliance with international conventions to avoid violations of human rights and decent working conditions.

These values are embedded in The Well AS's governance documents. We impose strict requirements on our suppliers and require them to sign and adhere to our ethical guidelines.

Due Diligence Assessments
The primary obligation under the Transparency Act is to conduct due diligence assessments, in line with the OECD guidelines.

These assessments ensure that we understand our impact on human rights and decent working conditions, and that we take necessary steps to mitigate negative impacts and remedy any harm.
